About the role:

The Regional Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence for ALS Environmental Laboratories within an assigned region. This role focuses on developing strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting ALS’s full suite of environmental testing services to industrial, municipal, consulting, and government clients. The position requires a proactive, customer-focused professional with strong technical aptitude and the ability to communicate complex laboratory services effectively.



About you:

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets for environmental laboratory services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify, prospect, and generate new business opportunities across diverse sectors, including environmental consulting firms, engineering companies, municipalities, industrial clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with laboratory operations, project managers, and customer service teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and timely resolution of client concerns.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations, proposals, and service agreements tailored to customer needs.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of environmental testing methods, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline updates using CRM tools.
  • Represent ALS at regional conferences, trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
  • Monitor market conditions and competitor activity to identify opportunities and recommend strategic adjustments.
  • Travel throughout the region as needed (typically 25–50%).
  • Other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of sales experience, ideally within environmental services, laboratory testing, or a related technical field.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand technical laboratory testing services and explain them to clients.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience selling environmental laboratory testing services (e.g., water, soil, air, PFAS, waste).
  • Existing network within environmental consulting, engineering, or industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with EPA, NPDES, and state-specific environmental regulations.

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working;
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers;
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware;
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment;
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone;
